Digital + Film Photography
Update, 2021: The pandemic motivated me to abandon the analog ship and switch over to a digital rangefinder. Although I still plan to shoot film on occassion, I have focussed photo-taking efforts to digital for now.
Following a loss in the family during the COVID-19 pandemic, I really needed to surround myself with calm. This ‘calm’ manifested as a roadtrip across nine states in an attempt to heal by (re)connecting with friends and family along the way. The long stretches of breathaking wilderness were some of the most restorative moments. It was also nice to see friendly interactions between strangers, especially given the political tumult of the time.

I enjoy film photography because it forces me to slow down and be more deliberate about picture-making (vs picture-taking) which, in turn, makes me more curious and observant about the happenings and people around me. These images are of street life captured during my travels whilst equipped with a used Bessa T and a 40mm lens that I snagged at a camera shop in Singapore.
Photos have not been edited other than slight cropping and rotation as needed.
